Bloomstead is live — send a postcard from a world made of blocks
Today Playpit opens its doors with our first original game: Bloomstead, a cozy voxel homestead sandbox that runs free in your browser.
The loop
You arrive in an endless procedurally generated world with a small starter kit. From there:
- Wander — beaches, forests, headlands, the odd ruined watchtower.
- Gather — hold to break blocks; crafted tools speed you up.
- Craft — a friendly recipe list, no grid puzzles: planks, glass, tools, lanterns.
- Build — your homestead, your rules.
- Light the night — glowmoss actually glows, and the nights are genuinely dark.
Somewhere along the way a mopling will hop past. They’re harmless. Mostly round.
The postcard
Here’s the part we’re proudest of. Press P and Bloomstead frames your current view as a postcard — and bakes in a visit link. Because every world grows deterministically from its seed, that link regenerates your world on your friend’s device and stands them in your exact spot, looking the same direction: same headland, same sunset, same half-built cabin. No server, no account, no upload. The world travels as a number.
Our favorite way to play so far: build something worth seeing, wait for golden hour, send the postcard, and watch a friend walk around inside your view two minutes later.
Built kid-safe
Bloomstead is designed for everyone, including the youngest builders: no chat, no accounts, no purchases, no combat. Your worlds save in your own browser and never leave your device. The whole site works this way — it’s our privacy policy in game form.
Under the hood
Bloomstead runs on our own voxel engine — greedy meshing in a Web Worker, flood-fill lighting, seeded worldgen, delta saves. If that sentence did something for you, devlog #1 is the full tour.
Play Bloomstead → — and if you find a view worth keeping, you know what to do. Send us the postcard.
